iCham is a suite of tools that supports typing Cham script (Akhar Thrah) based on Latin input (Rumix). The mission of the project is to make typing Cham on electronic devices fast, accurate, and easy for everyone.
All tools under the iCham project are released for free on Windows to serve the mission of preserving and developing the Cham language (MCGA). However, to cover the costs of maintaining the iCham app on the Apple Store and Google Play, we charge a fee of approximately $3.75/year per device after a 3-day free trial. Less than the price of one cup of coffee per month ☕
iCham is developed independently. Your support helps maintain updates, compatibility, and future improvements.
Absolutely not. iCham is committed to not collecting, storing, or sending any content you type (such as passwords, credit card numbers, or messages) to any server. All text conversion processes take place directly on your device.
This is a technical requirement of iOS for the keyboard to perform features such as playing sounds while typing, creating haptic feedback, or processing the buffer for the Rumix typing style. Granting this access does not mean we collect your data.
iCham uses Rumix typing rules (from Latin to Akhar Thrah). You just need to type the corresponding Latin characters; after pressing the Space bar or punctuation, the text will automatically convert to Akhar Thrah. For example: typing adei + Space will result in ꨀꨕꨬ.
Yes. Full version users receive all future updates.
This is because your device does not have a font that supports Akhar Thrah installed. You should install fonts like Noto Sans Cham for the best display. In the iCham for iOS and Android versions, this font is already integrated within the app.
iCham is compatible with Windows 7 and newer.
